No Backyard? Here’s How You Can Have Your Garden Regardless

If you have the soul of a gardener but are trapped in an urban apartment with no backyard or even a balcony – here are some creative gardening ideas that will help you turn your garden dream into a reality.

Contain it, beautifully

Since you don’t have a ground to plant your garden in, the simplest thing to do is use containers or planters. But don’t get just any planter – choose ones that can add sophistication to your décor and are fully weather-resistant and durable.

Air it out

Air plants (actually called Tillandsia) can be the perfect solution for any indoor gardener – all they need is some regular watering every now and then. As their name implies, this type of plant doesn’t require soil so you can display them however you like – hang them on a wall, place them in a nice basket or glass bowl, or mount them on to a piece of wood or a rock using glue.

As simple as a glass of water

Now that we’ve covered earth and air, let’s talk about another element: water. Some plants actually need nothing more than water, which means very easy maintenance. All you need to do is get some nice glass containers, fill them with water and drop your water plants in. Although maintenance really is a piece of cake, you will need to add a few drops of plant food each month.

The terrarium route

Any glass structure can be used to create a magical terrarium that will brighten up you space instantly – a coffee carafe, a glass lantern and even a glass coffee table or anything other glass container you can think of. Your terrarium can display any type of petite, humidity loving, indirect light tolerant plant.
